About us

A vision built for success.

Gallerie Commerciali Bennet was established in the 1990s, when the Bennet Group, having consolidated its position in the hypermarket sector, further expanded its offering by creating a commercial destination able to bring together shopping opportunities, leisure and social interaction in one place.
This marked the development of a new format, combining shops, services and entertainment within a single space and under one shared organisation.

Since then, Gallerie Commerciali Bennet has followed a path of strong expansion, enhancing the value of its real estate portfolio and diversifying through the acquisition of new assets in strategic locations.

Our History
Thirty years of growth
From the first shopping gallery in Lombardy to a portfolio of 80 assets across Northern Italy: the growth story of Gallerie Commerciali Bennet, a leading company in retail real estate.
1990s
The founding
The first shopping galleries open in Lombardy and Piedmont
Gallerie Commerciali Bennet was founded with the aim of developing shopping galleries to serve affiliate Bennet S.p.A. The format was innovative for its time: bringing together a hypermarket, shopping and socialising in a single space. By the end of the 1990s, over 25 galleries had already been built across Piedmont and Lombardy.

2000s
The expansion
New regions, new formats, new standards.
The 2000s saw the opening of new shopping centres in previously unexplored regions, alongside the consolidation of the existing territorial presence. A phase of growth and expansion that brought GCB to over 50 assets by the end of the decade.

2010s
The strengthening
New centres in established regions. The Reimagining of Spaces
The 2010s marked a phase of consolidation and capillary expansion: GCB strengthened its presence in regions where it already operated through the opening of new shopping centres. At the same time, the company launched an initial program to renovate its galleries for improved functionality and energy efficiency. Gallerie Bennet completed a series of strategic downsizing of its food sections, leading to the creation of new medium-sized non-food stores with high commercial potential. Each asset is reimagined to respond to changes in the retail market.

The valorisation
Reimagined spaces. Renewed assets.
From 2020, GCB intensified its portfolio enhancement strategy, completing the transition begun in the previous decade. The company focuses on completing the conversion of food spaces into new medium-sized non-food retail areas, responding to changing consumer behaviors and enhancing the commercial appeal of each center. At the same time, GCB invests in energy efficiency by installing solar panels and energy-efficient lighting systems. Each asset is being redesigned to adapt to changing consumer behaviors and support the competitiveness of tenants.

The new phase
A new identity: a full-service real estate company.
The year 2025 marks a structural turning point: GCB launches a profound corporate reorganisation, becoming the owner of the entirety of Bennet S.p.A.'s real estate portfolio. From 2025, Gallerie Commerciali Bennet strategically positions itself in the market as a full-spectrum real estate company, no longer exclusively tied to its subsidiary. The expansion continues with the acquisition of two shopping galleries in Parma and Molinetto (BS), and in 2026 diversifies further with the purchase of a free standing property of 36,000 sq m in Milan Viale Corsica — the first operation outside the pure retail perimeter, and a clear signal of a broader and more ambitious real estate vision.
